Refunds & Cancellations

Last updated: 20 Feb 2026. These terms apply to all Almarse programmes.

Programmes run with very small groups and fixed dates. When a place is reserved, it is removed from availability and costs are committed on your behalf. These terms reflect that reality — they are proportionate, not punitive.

Deposit

A deposit of 30% of the total programme fee is required to confirm your reservation. The deposit is non-refundable in all circumstances — it covers the time of reservation, initial coordination, and committed costs from the moment your place is held.

The remaining 70% balance is due according to the schedule in your written confirmation (typically 60 days before the programme start date).

Spring Immersion — cancellation terms

Applicable to the Spring Immersion programme (March–May). Dates are flexible within the season.

  • More than 60 days before start: 70% of the total fee reimbursed (deposit forfeited).
  • 30–60 days before start: 50% of the total fee reimbursed.
  • Less than 30 days before start: no reimbursement. If we are able to fill the place, we will offer a credit toward a future date.

Eclipse Longevity Days — cancellation terms

Applicable to the Eclipse Longevity Days programme (10–13 August 2026). The date is fixed and cannot be rescheduled.

  • More than 90 days before start (before 11 May 2026): 70% of the total fee reimbursed (deposit forfeited).
  • 60–90 days before start (11 May – 10 June 2026): 50% of the total fee reimbursed.
  • Less than 60 days before start (after 10 June 2026): no reimbursement. The eclipse date cannot be moved and places cannot be filled at short notice.

Transfers

You may transfer your reservation to another person without penalty, subject to the following:

  • Spring Immersion: transfers permitted up to 14 days before the programme start date.
  • Eclipse Longevity Days: transfers permitted up to 30 days before start (10 July 2026).

Transfers must be confirmed in writing via WhatsApp. The incoming participant accepts all programme terms from the moment of transfer.

Weather and visibility (Eclipse programme)

The Eclipse Longevity Days is a 4-day structured programme. It runs in full regardless of weather conditions on eclipse day. Cloud cover during totality does not constitute grounds for cancellation or reimbursement.

If totality is completely obscured by cloud cover at the viewing position, we will offer a partial credit of 30% of the programme fee applicable toward a future Spring Immersion. This credit is offered as a gesture — it is not a contractual obligation.

Astronomy is not a controlled variable. We select viewing positions specifically for their meteorological reliability in August, and Mallorca has one of the highest sunshine rates in the western Mediterranean in summer. The risk of complete cloud obstruction is low but cannot be eliminated.

Rescheduling

We prefer rescheduling over cancellation wherever possible. If you need to change dates, contact us as early as possible. Where we can accommodate a change without committing additional costs, we will do so without penalty.

Third-party costs

Some programme costs involve third-party commitments (private finca rental, accommodation coordination, gastronomy reservations). Where third-party cancellation terms are more restrictive than ours, we will be transparent about this before you commit and will reflect actual unrecoverable costs in any refund calculation.

Force majeure

If a programme cannot run due to events genuinely beyond reasonable control — severe weather making the location inaccessible, public health restrictions, or similar — we will offer rescheduling as the first option. If rescheduling is not possible, a refund based on unrecoverable costs will be calculated and issued within 30 days.

How to cancel or reschedule

All cancellations and reschedule requests must be made via WhatsApp +34 651 581 118. The date of your message is the date used for calculating applicable terms. We confirm receipt within 48 hours.
